Disney Springs
My name is Kris Mesler, and I am a lecturer in the Educational Technology department at Boise State University (BSU) in Boise, Idaho. In 1981, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a Music Theory concentration from Northwest Nazarene College (now University) in Idaho. For several years, I taught at the middle school level in mathematics (mostly), literature, yearbook, world studies, life skills, English, reading, health, computer and physical education, as the needs of each year dictated. While caregiving for my mother during the end of her life from Alzheimer's disease, I discovered the Master of Educational Technology option at BSU. In December 2011, I graduated from BSU with a Master of Educational Technology degree.
In completing this degree, I would like to take this opportunity to thank:
- My wonderful husband, Dennis, and his never-ending patience during my study times, while being my "rock" when I needed one. I truly could not have done this without him.
- My son, Darren, and his family, Michelle, Caden, and especially my "lesson tester," Cierra, for providing me with happy and fun distractions from the workload. It is my hope that by seeing Grandma continue her education, my grandchildren will be inspired to go on in education and accomplish great things.
- My daughter, Kylee, for allowing me to bounce ideas off of her, and for her consistency in her own studies that motivates me to always do my best.
- My sister, Judy, for her encouraging words in person, on the phone, and by email. It is her own academic pursuits that spurred me on in my own.
- All of my wonderful EdTech professors at Boise State University. Your help and wisdom kept me going through some otherwise tough times!
